Clean Beauty, Clean Consciousness.

Not everything that’s legal is the best, and not everything natural is better.

At SISA CARE, we believe that beauty should be both safe and transparent. While the EU has some of the strictest cosmetic regulations in the world—banning over 1,600 harmful substances and prohibiting animal testing—some ingredients still raise concerns.

Are EU Regulations Enough?

Not entirely. Some potentially harmful ingredients are still present in cosmetics, either because research is ongoing or because the allowed limits might be too high. These substances can accumulate in the body over time or pose risks to reproductive health, hormonal balance, and overall well-being.

Here are a few examples:

  • PFAS ("forever chemicals") – persistent in the body, linked to hormonal disruption

  • Cyclic Siloxanes – associated with reproductive toxicity

  • Heavy metals (cadmium, lead, mercury) – bioaccumulative, can damage the brain, kidneys, and nervous system

  • Lilial – banned for its toxic effects, yet previously found in well-known products like Olaplex

The Truth About "Clean Beauty"

The terms "clean beauty" and "non-toxic" have no official definition. They are often used as marketing buzzwords without clear guidelines. This is why we take a thoughtful approach—carefully choosing what we include and, just as importantly, what we avoid.

What Do We Avoid?

We prioritize your wellbeing and the health of the planet. Some of the ingredients we choose to exclude include:

  • Parabens – potential endocrine disruptors

  • Silicones – can create buildup on the skin and are not always eco-friendly

  • Synthetic fragrances – often contain allergens and undisclosed chemicals like phthalates

  • Sulfates – can strip the skin and cause irritation

…and the list goes on!

Natural Doesn’t Always Mean Safe

While we embrace naturally derived ingredients, we know that "natural" doesn’t always mean better. Some natural substances can be irritating or even harmful:

  • Essential oils – potent allergens when misused

  • Natural preservatives – often less effective, increasing the risk of bacterial contamination

Beauty Shouldn’t Harm Us or the Planet

Cosmetics should be safe not only for our bodies but also for the environment. Many conventional beauty products contribute to bioaccumulation, microplastic pollution, and animal testing (animal testing is banned in the EU). That’s why we focus on recyclable and minimal packaging, reducing plastic waste wherever possible. We believe in a “less is more” approach—not just in formulations, but in the overall number of products we use. Whenever possible, we prioritize local production to lower our carbon footprint and choose ingredients with both safety and sustainability in mind.

We meticulously research every ingredient, ensuring that the products we offer are truly clean—without unnecessary risks. No compromises. Just high-quality, safe, and effective beauty that you can trust.
